"We laughed at the other tour groups that were paying an extra $1500 for the same trip we were taking."—Steve Shepard, Riverside CT

OK, Allan, Give Me More Details on What You Can Do

You'll find details on how I work below, but here's the "bottom line" at the top. Like any good professional, I can help you save time and money.  I've done the traveling. I've played the courses. I've read the books. I've written a book. I've spent thousands of hours on the internet. Engaging me as a trip planner is like engaging the services of an accountant or attorney. My knowledge will save your time and money. I do that by (a) asking the right questions of you and by (b) providing information responsive to your answers.

My service is ideal for:
A cloudy day on the first tee at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.
the first-time traveler who instinctively distrusts package deals and wants to learn from and participate in trip planning—to have the best possible trip for a fair price
the second or third-time traveler to Scotland or Ireland who has bought a package tour once and is ready to get off the beaten path
up to twelve golfers with or without non-golfing spouses or travel companions
two golfers or a single golfer with a non-golfing spouse or travel companion
anyone who just doesn't have the time or inclination to deal with all the details of trip planning

Fee Structure - My service is fee-based (rather than commission-based). What does that mean to you?  First, it means I have absolutely no incentive to put you in luxury accommodations and expensive golf courses unless that's what you want.  I do not benefit as you spend more money.  Most important, it means you know your costs every step of the way.  Nothing is hidden in a "package price." No hidden commissions!  No "single supplements!." No non-golfer rip-offs! Ferguson Golf truly takes the flim-flam out of the golf travel business. Here's a summary of my planning fees:

•  First 4 golfers: $300 per golfer
•  Per golfer beyond 4$200
• $750 minimum (this applies to one or two golfers)

Thus, for a typical group of four, my total fee is $1,200. This compares to something like $600 to $1,000+ per golfer that a tour operator will extract from you in a package tour.

Terms:  50% down; 50% upon completion of booking and transmittal of your Ferguson Golf Travel Notebook loaded with maps and brochures plus written confirmations of tee times, lodging, and transportation arrangements.

Twilight Special: $100.  If you are considering a tour package, I'll run a cost analysis for you and suggest changes. If you are going to Scotland, this service includes a copy of my book, Golf in Scotland: A Travel-Planning Guide with Profiles of 68 Great Courses. You must provide precise information regarding courses and accommodations so that I can give you an "apples to apples" analysis.

Here's My Guarantee

I guarantee this: When you book a golf trip through Ferguson Golf, you will save the cost of my planning fee in good advice and cost-saving strategies. More important, you'll have a better, more enjoyable trip than anything offered by a tour operator. That's because the trip truly will be yours. After your trip, if you think I haven't made good on this guarantee, you can have your money back—no "ifs," "ands," or "buts." No fine print; just complete satisfaction.
